Guest guest
Dear all, I dont know if my question is pertinent to the discussion here. but still, i wish to know what the Bhagvad Gita says about it. because i have always found answers from the members of this august discussion group. I had this experience today of giving bribe in a government office to get some work done. if i hadn't i wudnt have been able to get the work done. should we stick to DHARMA - righteousness and risk losing time, effort and money - in getting something done ? or get practical and get the job done by hook or crook ???? just because everyone else is doing it - should i too be part of the flock of sheep falling into the ditch ? i know it's almost inevitable in many cases - but is there any way - i can either console myself that what i am doing is right ... because afterall this is kaliyuga ... or do i say to myself that come what may - i should stick to righteousness - even if the entire world were to go corrupt ??? i'm at crossroads !! all those people who think that this query is too trivial can ignore it. but if anyone has any suggestions - please, i'm all ears to know what our scriptures have to say about it .... because for me it is a very big doubt !!! Mr. moderator - please let this pass .... sandeep
Guest guest
Dear Mr. Sandeep, IF YOU ARE A REAL PRABHANNAN, BELIEF IN HIM, YOU CAN AVOID SUCH HAPPENINGS; OTHER WISE AS A COMMAN MAN WE LEFT OUT WITH NO CHOICE. FOR THIS WE NEED TO DO SOME PARIKAARAM LIKE BHAAGHAVATHA ARAATHANAM. BY WHICH PERUMAL WILL DEFENITELY FORGIVE US. KNOWINGLY OR UNKNOWINGLY, WE ARE BOUND TO DO SOME MISTAKES THROUGHOUT OUR LIFE. FOR ANY MISTAKE WE DO THE REMEDY IS ONLY BHAAGAVATHA AARATHANAM. I DON'T ADVOCATE THE PAYING BRIBE IS CORRECT. BUT IF UNAVOIDABLE WE NEED TO SEEK FOR THE REMEDY. IF WE FOLLOW THE GEETHA SLOKA, "ANANYA CHINTHANTHOMA" IN ALL ASPECTS OF OUR LIFE THEN WE SHOULD FEEL FOR A COMMAN MISTAKE. THIS IS ONLY MY HUMBLE OPINION. KIND REGARDS. SRI RAMANUJA DAASAN. R. Guest guest
In this life there are many situations that we have no control on. Acting or not acting both can cause it own problems. In all these situations, Think of Him and perform and even offer that also to Him. If the action affects only the person involved, one can make an appropriate action. But most of these actions also affect others and not doing it one becomes a victim of circumstances. It is not a license to kill or act evil. Situations are there where your choices are limited to get the action done. One can avoid many of these but one cannot avoid all of it. Consider it is a part of His play and offer it also as prayer to him. What is right dharma depends on what one percievs as one is. Ultimate dharma is His service. Hari OM!
