Guest guest
TO BE ALONE OR WITH GROUP? In the first pAsuram of thirup pAvai AndAL invokes parathvam. In the second, vyUham. In third vibhavam and in this pAsuram archAvathAra Lord is mentioned. In the next ten pAsuram-s including this pAsuram, those who are interested in krishNanubhavam are woken up and invited for this divine exprience. Now a question is raised. Why not go it alone? Why should one invite and wake up others for this krishNAnubhavam. The right time is chosen, The permission from elders are obtained, Lord KrishNa is yonder, then why not each enjoy Him separately? What is the need for being together? When entering a gale-like atmoshphere where ferocious winds are blowing, one does not go alone. One goes alongwith suitable support. Is there here a gale-like atmosphere? perungARRilE iyivArkku thuNai thEttamAp pOlE, the very sight of the Lord will make the legs wobble, eyes circle, heart-beat and melt(kAl Azhum, kaN suzhalum, nenjazhiyum- periya thiruvandhAdhi-34).Then does not one need support. Hence, the need for seeking mutual support is emphasised. Further, when even nithya-sUrigaL look for apt support when they enjoy and experience the Lord of paramapadham ( "imayOr thamkkum than mAyam sevvE" thiruvirutham 98) we being innocent gopikAs and the Lord being the ocean of saulabhyam LOrd krishNa, we definitely need a support. Moreover, those who are committed and interested in this krishNAnubhavam should not lose this great opportunity and hence are being invited. Besides, when bhagwadh vishayam is experienced, it is fitting for a srEvaishnavite to experience alongwith other vaishnavites especially when bearing in mind the greatness of the end( vEdham vallArgaLai koNdu viNNOar perumAn thirup pAdham paNindhu-thiru voi mozhi 4-6-8 - Approach the Lord with the help of those souls who have realised the essence of vEdham being that means and end is none other than Him) Therefore, considering the aforementioned factors, it is but natural to look for support of srEvaishnavites. vAnamAmalai padmanAbhan
