Guest guest
Salutations to thakur, Guru, and Ma! M. (to the bhaktas)--Thakur had once become mad-like repeating this Ram-nam. Sitting in the Panchavati he would cry. I knew of a Maharashtrian sadhu who built himself a cottage on the bank of the Godavari ; he was repeating the great mantra: RAMA, RAMA, SRI RAMA, JAI JAI RAMA'. He repeated this for thirteen years--thirteen letters, so thirteen years. To the bhaktas--Why don't you all repeat the same name? They all sing: RAMA, RAMA, SRI RAMA, JAI-JAI RAMA. Thakur used to say : The yoga, the sacrifice, the vow, the reading of scriptures, nothing avails, not even tapasya without His grace. When he sees that havinjg renounced all, one is crying and calling upon him yearningly, facing all troubles, his grace dawns. Then He reveals Himself. They all sing loudly : RAMA, RAMa, SRI RAMA, JAI-JAI RAMA. This Rama-Rama, said Thakur, is whispered into the ears of the dying by Mahadeva Himself at the Manikarnika. He had himself seen Shiva doing so. Sing this very name, all of you, sing : RAMA, RAMA, SRI RAMA, JAI-JAI RAMA. Thakur had gone to see the play of Dhruva-Charit. On hearing the wailing of Suneeti he said : 'Let me tell you something here. On your becoming absolutely sincere He is bound to reveal Himself, He must'. He emphasized it twice. Every moment : RAMA, RAMA. In India such things are happening even today. M. again sings loudly with the bhaktas: RAMA, RAMA, SRI RAMA, JAI-JAI RAMA Said he to Vivekananda : He who is called the Indivisible Satchitananda in the Veda, Him I call 'Ma, Ma', Him I call 'Rama, Rama'. Again M. sings with the bhaktas: RAMA, RAMA, SRI RAMA, JAI-JAI RAMA." Satchitananda Kathy (M.-THE APOSTLE AND EVANGELIST.
