Guest guest
Dear Srivaishnavaites, I got a small doubt. We celebrate birthdays of other avatars of Lord in their stars but why do we celebrate on thithi as pithrukkal for Rama and Krishna(Rama Navami and Janma Ashtami). Is there any significance for this? Thanks, Srinath
Guest guest
Dear Srivaishnavaites, Further to the above doubt i have few more doubts for which i seek your clarification. Vedas-Question1 When we go to any upanyasakas or read their writings about Vedas, they tell Stories with some characters. We beleive that Vedas were prior to everything but then how come we have these stories? Vedas-Question2 Vedas does not refer Lord in sitting, standing, relaxing postures. How come we have installations in temple with all these postures? What authority is there for this? Or have we done anything against vedas? Other questions 1. We make paanagam, butter milk and payatham paruppu etc for Rama Navami. Why? In north they do not do these? 2. Panagam and Kesari for Narasimha jayanthi. 3. Salt seedai and Sweet seedai etc for Gokulashtami.. whereas in north or Gujarat where krishna was born, they do not do all these? Is there any significance for all these or is it a local individualised versions?. Thanks, Srinath Note: forwarded message attached. **************************** [ The forwarded message doesn't show up here as attachments are not allowed.
