Guest guest
After every major disaster or calamity, we start asking questions on the existence of God. The question is, where is God, the Savior? Is He really existent? If He is, why doesn't He save these poor people -- men, women, children (who are mostly believers) from such disasters? Otherwise, why would it be outrageous to believe that the concept of God is nothing but a hoax? Should the society that we live have no uncertainty, no death, no sorrows, no calamities and no disasters? Then what is the role of God in this society! Actually, God is nothing but the questions! God is Why! What! When! Where! Who! Which! Shall? Will? Is? Was? Human life is full of questions with no answers. Every experience brings a new question and the question never ends. Questions neither have a beginning nor did it ever end! Science tries to find an answer that is intellectually satisfactory. Science answers those questions for which factual data are readily available. Religion on the other hand tries to explain questions for which no data are available. If Science can explain all questions without ambiguity, there will be no more questions and God! The question with no satisfactory answer symbolically represents God. Can human intelligence answer every question unambiguously? If we say then we admit that God is nonessential! If we say No, we admit the existence of an unanswered question which is the symbol of God! God is present when a question is present and God is absent when questions disappear! Human intelligence is the creator of any question and the same intelligence also wants to find an answer. Can human intelligence ever find answers to all the questions? The answer is obviously no! What happens when we shut our intelligence, and consequently suppress all the questions? We can go beyond the boundaries of human intelligence. We know that our thoughts brought new questions, then new answers and more questions! Intelligence is the trap that created illusionary questions and evasive answers. Once we get out of this trap, we can realize that the question - What is God? will be the answer! What is God? God is Truth! What is Truth? Truth is the end of Questions! What is a Question? Question is a Thought! What is Thought? Thought is the output of Intellect! What is Intellect? Intellect is the stock of Knowledge! What is Knowledge? Knowledge is a measure of Perception What is Perception? Perception is the sensation of body, mind and intellect! What is sensation? Sensation is the spark of Desire! What is Desire? Desire is Human Creation? What is Human Creation? Human Creation is an Illusion! What is an Illusion? Illusion is a Belief! What is Belief? Belief is the outcome of an Experience. What is Experience? Experience is the Part of Life? What is Life? Life is the Gift of God! What is God? -- Ram Chandran Burke, VA 22015
Guest guest
Yes, events of pain and evil often triggers and touches the very core of one's personality. The search for answer is a universal fact. Blind faith through religion is a pragmatic answer because of lack of alternatives. No intent to be facetious but If the intellect is the limiting item for experiencing the unanswered and given the universal quest for answer, loss of intellect by voluntary lobotomy would have been adopted centuries ago by many if not all. Interjecting logic in any religion or philosophy is a hopeless task. All said and done, the issue boils down to "how do you find meaning for a being who needs meaning in a world that has no meaning". This is a honest, even if mistaken, perspective and not an attempt to throw flame on this list. Intellect is essential but not sufficient! If we don't suppress the intellect, it is very difficult to see the other ingredients for finding the Truth! The flame (intellect) that brings the light has the tendency to burn and we need to put of the flame when necessary! Intellect and Ego are synonimous and Ego is the greatest barrier to TRUTH and Ego separates the human from the True Divine Nature! This list definitely does not promote blind faith and one of the primary objective of the list is free us from blind faith!
