There are many well documented records of the seeming miraculous powers of

Siddhas, Rishis and accomplished Yogis in the following books: "A Search in

Secret India" by Paul Brunton, "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramhansa

Yogananda and "Living with the Himalayan Masters" by Swami Rama. The phenomena

described include -materialization, dematerialization, transmutation of

matter, voluntary stopping of heart activity, prolongation of life,

transference of consciousness into a dead body and many more.

All such manifestations are as reducible to law as the simplest phenomena of

the physical universe. These powers are possible because man is a microcosm,

whatever exists in the outer universe exists in him. All the Tattvas are

within him to be controlled. When the inner man is strengthened and freed from

the dominion of the physical body and its surroundings, he is in a position to

master some of these subtle forces. One of them is Kriya-Sakti, the mysterious

power of thought which enables it to produce external, perceptible, phenomenal

result by its own inherent energy. Any idea will manifest itself externally if

one's attention is deeply concentrate upon it. Every thought of man upon being

evolved passes into the inner world and becomes an active entity by coalescing

itself with an elemental; that is to say with one of the semi-intelligent

forces of the kingdoms. It survives as an active intelligence, a creature of

the mind's begetting, for a longer or shorter period proportionate with the

original intensity of the cerebral action which generated it. The development

of this power will endow the practitioner with Siddhis as described in the

Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

Best Wishes,

Alex

Does the Absolute know that it is in Bliss? And where is the non-Bliss state

that it uses to make comparison?

Sat-Chit-Ananda is the state of our consciousness in union with the Universal

Mind (Ishvara). Had we really blended with the Absolute we could not return to

describe our experience. We may enter the Light, but we will never touch the

Flame.
