While the physical body with the senses is at the root of the process of formation & accumulation of ego, there is a larger process of accumulation of ego" Correction: I think the implication of a "larger process" beyond the perspective of Vedanta is unintentional. What I wanted to say is that "a more concrete analysis can be put in place to understand the development & activity of the subjective self". Since the body and the senses are at the root of the hierarchy in forming the ego complex, _dEhAtma bhAva_ would be a very succinct, yet semantically loaded way to describe ego.
