Guest guest
Hi Kim If you wish to learn more about Dvaita/Advaita Vedanta in detail I would suggest you to look up some books by Swami Vivekananda. The main points of his teachings on Vedanta are:- (1) Each soul is potentially divine. To manifest this divinity by controlling nature external and internal is the true meaning of 'Vedantic religion' (2) As long as we are not fully aware of our true nature - we are forced to think of this divine as 'something external' - God and like. This is Dvaita Vedanta - there is nothing wrong with it or as some 'Advaita Vedantist' think anything demeaning in such an approach. It is the practical requirement to spiritual progress. (3) The destination has to be realising our true identity with the ultimate. That is 'Advaita'. This is not a 'statement of fact' but a 'state of realisation. Hence when we see all learned(?) Advaita promoters making a song and dance of Adviata - they in fact demean the subject by all their hoo haa. regards jay
