We thought you might be interested to be informed that Ranjit Maharaj is

coming to Europe and the USA starting April 5th. A brief introduction to

him and his teaching is below, along with his 1999 schedule :

 

Ranjit Maharaj was born in Bombay on January 4th 1913. At the age of 12, =

met his master Siddharameshwar Maharaj, a great unknown master of the age=

Siddharameshwar Maharaj is also the master of the sage, Nisargadatta

Maharaj. =

 

 

Sri Siddharameshwar Maharaj was born in 1888 in Pathri, a small village i=

the Sholapur district of Maharashtra. After his realisation, his stand

point was to give out the full understanding of the final Reality, making=

 

clear that the "sat-chit-ananda" stage (the source of knowledge) is still=

 

an illusion. The source of consciousness or knowledge is not Reality.

Reality is beyond both ignorance and knowledge. =

 

 

Ranjit Maharaj only began to teach in 1983 at the age of 70 when increasi=

numbers of seekers kept showing up at his door. His teaching is in the

continuity of his master's, who emphasises simplicity and directeness in

language: "To find out your true nature is the easiest thing, since you a=

That.There is no time, no distance between you and yourself. Philosophy i=

the easiest and the most difficult thing because you don't accept it. It =

always for something which is not that you have to do efforts."

The first step of the teaching is to know oneself. It consists of using

discrimination in order to find out one's true nature. One has to proceed=

 

by rejecting all false identifications that one has taken upon oneself.

These are the veils of ignorance that can be removed by knowledge. Once

ignorance is gone, knowledge has no more entity. In Reality, there is no

knowledge and no ignorance, and That is who we are.

 

The specificity of Ranjit Maharaj's teaching is its radical stand and

directness : "All is illusion, the "I" is illusion so, whatever the "I"

does is also illusion." Therefore Ranjit Maharaj doesn't give any method =

to

improve that which is not, that which is illusion. The whole process is

actually to get rid of what is not, the illusion.
