Harsha: Self Realization is not a trick or an accomplishment. It is not a

play on words or with words. It is One's True Eternal and Natural State.

Sages have said that spiritual practice is not meant to give anything new or

add anything to us. It is needed to remove the barrier to Seeing What Is -

That which You Truly Are."

A similar idea is present in Raja yoga

You do not succeed in getting into a state of meditation - It is as if

meditation takes over and overwhelms you. Meditation does not mean getting

the mind screwed up in some state - it is allowing the mind to untangle -

that is all. The rest follows.

First hand realization is the key.

Without first hand spiritual experience all gymnastics is worth very little.

The only key we have to this subject is the God men/women. For them

spirituality was first hand - they can be true guides.

One other personality of this calibre springs to mind. Some list members may

like to give us more details.

It is the glorious Advaitin Swami Ramatirtha. He followed in Swami

Vivekananda's footsteps and visited the West in the early part of this

century. I have studied most of his lectures - they are superb.

Thank you very much for posting it. Could you please quote the source

of Raja yoga? Thank you once again.
