Guest guest
A member of this list Raju (who is my good friend and we meet weekly in Virgina during Chinmaya Mission Satsang) narrated this interesting incident in India. He and the fellow students of ISI (Indian Statistical Institute) had the occasion to meet the great Indian Philosopher and President of India, Dr. Radhakrishnan. The president entertained questions from the students and Raju asked Dr. Radhakrishnan to explain the distinction between Science and Religion. Dr. Radhakrishnan's profound reply is the following: " A little knowledge of science will take us away from religion and a deeper knowledge of science will take us back deep into religion!" Note: Thanks Raju for telling me this incident and I request Raju to share his similar experiences during his meetings with Swami Chinmayanandaji, Swami Tejomayanandaji and others. Such messages will be helpful to the list members in getting inspiration and motivation to seek "Self Knowledge." Ram Chandran
Guest guest
Hello, The quote is wonderful and I believe that Einstein was known to have believed that one could not take the mystical/spiritual out of science. It reminds me that yoga is actually known as the 'science of spirituality. A couple of years ago the move Contact was very well accepted and the part Jodie Foster played is a good example of a 'modern' epic that supports the statement of Dr. Radhakrishnan's. When we study the ancient scriptures much is explained and then understood however, in order for spiritual progress to be made it is important that our modern stories begin to reflect truth.....I always appreciate it when something like Contact comes along.
