Jay - Greetings

I am curious about your talk. Can you provide an abridged version if not of

the full version for the benefit of the advaitin memebers.

Further to comments from Dr Radhakrishnana about science and spirituality.

Let me digress a little - some of the youngsters of Vivekananda Centre are

studying Hinduism for Advanced S Level course for London University at the

moment.

Part of the course requires studying the teachings of: -

Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Sri Gandhij and Dr Radhakrishnan.

The board suggested that Dr Radhakrishnan is one of the important figures to

reflect the renaissance in Hinduism.

We had bit of fun with the London University Board - we said with other

figures we can agree with this statement but we think Dr Radhakrishnan is

more a great philosopher, a great orator perhaps a great political figure

but a renaissance figure?

The board responded by saying well then your candidates can give a good

explanation why he cannot be considered to be a good renaissance figure of

Hinduism.

Tonight I am giving a talk to the medical students in one of the teaching

hospitals in London. The theme of my talk is Science and Spirituality. I

will draw on the teachings of Swami Vivekananda to show the unique

relationship that exists between science and spirituality. They cannot be

antagonistic in the final run -- otherwise we have two separate universes -

the 'internal' and the 'external'.

regards

jay
