Guest guest
Earlier today, I was trying to locate a particular article of interest to me. I am not sure how the archives can be used for search or print. 1. Search for an article: How do we trace an article by a particular author or on a particular subject matter or a particular title ? 2. Printing of an article: Assuming somehow we located the article of interest, how do we print the single article. It seems to me we have to print the whole digest. I thought, with the advance of the web-page designs and storage, we can certainly include a search engine and print of a particular article facility. Or, am I missing some particular commands? I wonder if, either Shri Ram Chandran or some other knowledgeable persons in the field can educate me in this. Guest guest
Greetings Murthygaru: You have raised some valid questions and let me try to explain my understanding: First, this list does not provide a search engine to look for an article using key word specifications. This is one of the many limitations of free mailing lists! Second, to print any specific article within a digest for any specific date, you should copy the article using the browser commands and paste it on a Dos Window or Wordprocessing window and print the article. This is quite tedius and this is the only way! University List Servers are ideally suited for running a mailing list such as Advaitin but only faculty and students are only permitted to moderate a mailing list. As you may aware, the archives of Advaita-L when it was in TAMU.EDU are searchable. However, currently inside the private computer, the list no more has search facility! Search Facility will be quite nice to have and personally, I do not like digests by day, I would prefer them weekly. In the near future, may provide those resources. I have searched for a mailing list server with search capabilities and I haven't found one. If you or anyone in this list knows any a mailing list server with more features, please send me a Email. Thanks for your understanding and cooperation, Ram Chandran Advaitin List Moderator Gummuluru Murthy wrote: > > Gummuluru Murthy <gmurthy > > Earlier today, I was trying to locate a particular article of interest > to me.
