Guest guest
Dear Ram: It is not even a month when I obtained my membership and I feel I am well on the road to awakenment - thanks to the Advaita Philosophy of Saint Shankara. Understanding that philosophy is a great start. To really understand the beauty of Ultimate Reality, we must also understand the interelationships between the various entities (naamas) and forms (rupas). This is where science comes in and engages in discovering various relationships (such as laws of mathematics, physics and biology) to enhance the reservoir of what Vivekananda called "pure knowledge". I spent about forty years in network science and now I feel good when I share that knowledge with my students. That knowledge is now being used in understanding Internet and all other forms of networks employed by corporations and governements. Where I need some clarification from my fellow members is about EVOLUTION. I believe that Ultimate Reality is slowly but steadily revealing Itself - taking millions/billions of years. Eventually, if we don't destroy ourselves on this planet - of course there are billions of other planets in the universe where human life will fully evolve, humans will eventually conquer (almost) disease and old age - ushering in a real Satya Yug, an age during which every one can experience bliss or nirvana. Meanwhile, we must go on living a spiritual life according to Bhagwad Gita and succumb to the Law. Am I wrong to believe that? Did Vedas ever describe Evolution? I will love to hear the views of my fellow members. Thanks again for your great leadership. Roshan L. Sharma Roshan L.
