Let us see what the other members make of reincarnation? All I can say about reincarnation is that I do not recall ever experiencing it, therefore there will always be doubt. Unless I myself experienced a "past life regression" that I could prove as being absolutely historically accurate, no matter how much empirical evidence there may be for reincarnation (and there is quite a lot), there must always be a doubt about it, however small. But in the long run reincarnation, although interesting, has nothing to do with what IS, this moment. Therefore, I have to say that it's no more than an interesting and entertaining topic of speculation that can provide some people a sense of comfort and some a sense of misery. Guest guest
Hari Om Jay: I enjoyed your dialog with Ron and let me add some additional comments. Hinduism is quite different from the other religions such as Christianity, Islam etc. Hinduism is evolved and there are many versions of Hinduism and they are applicable for people with different levels of maturity and understanding. Some in Hinduism will also say that God has setup a bureaucratic regiment to facilitate the organization of the souls in different universes (Earth - BoomaLok, Heaven - SwarkaLok, Hell - NaragaLok, KailasLok, VaikundaLok, BrahmaLok, etc. The transmigration of souls between these universes are decided by the Karma theory - good deeds get rewarded and bad deeds get punished. The servents of God - Yama, Chithragupta, Indira, Varna, etc. serve as managers and these are also not permanant positions and all by rotation according to deeds! There are many other interesting variations and explanations discussed Bhagawatham and other Puranic stories, Mahabharat and Ramayana. Deepak Chopra in his book on "Ageless body and Timeless Mind" describes that 98% of the entire human body is refurbished in every three months! The soul does occupies a new body every three months! Let us see what the other members make of reincarnation? It sounds to me like most of your questioner's confusion about reincarnation results from the common notion that the soul is "inside" the body. Ask him to think about it from the opposite perspective - that the body, and the entire universe, is "within" the soul - and see where that leads him....
