god's dominion over illusion?

I just read this... "A creator implies that His

creation is a separate reality and this would

contravene the fundamental principles on which

Advaita Vedanta bases its concept of non-duality.

Accordingly Sankara says: 'God's rulership,

omniscience and omnipotence are contingent to

limiting adjuncts conjured up by nescience: in

reality such terms as ruler and ruled, omniscience

etc., cannot be used with regard to the Self

shining in its own nature'."

 

So God's dominion is merely limiting adjuncts

"conjured up by nescience"? This is giving

nescience a lot of credit!!! It seems a more

reasonable view (to my mind) to consider the

universe to be the vibration of the Absolute

(which is Consciousness) and the vibrations of

Consciousness within Itself are as real as

Consciousness itself because they are

Consciousness. This is what many people think

Advaita Vedanta says but apparently this isn't so.

It is, I think, what Kashmir Shaivism says...
