Thank you Tim for opening this area for discussion and I do feel it is not

easy to share our ideas as when we use such broad strokes as "Western

Religions" and so on, it is difficult to remain fair and accurate. Popular

protestant, fundamentalist movements in the USA are not the only

"fundamentalist" movements going on in the world today... there is

fundamentalism in Islam and some would even argue a "fundamentalism" in

Hinduism. You're right also about the use of holy books to "start" wars ...

of course those who stoop to use a holy book for such a purpose as starting

a war must pay a great price, in my opinion, but the "war" has already

started in their hearts.

 

The discussion about the Kali Yuga I had with my beloved teacher, Swami

Prabhavananda occurred late at night over thirty years ago and is still
