Hello everyone. Next semester, I am teaching a course in business ethics to

MBA students. I just finished reviewing some texts and made a couple of book

selections. Is anyone aware of a course in business or corporate ethics,

where some selection of eastern writings or philosophy might have been used?

Just curious. If anyone has some thoughts or suggestions, feel free to pass

them on. Thanks.

What's right in business is what is profitable and

when the *big* chips are down whoever disagrees

will be quickly out of a job.

Dear Dr. Luther,

I use the following phrase from Mahatma Gandhi on " CUSTOMER

SERVICE" on all my lectures. Several times US Army soldiers and management

staff requested for a copy of the slide and I have provided them with a copy.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not

dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption on our

work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider on our business. He is a

part of it. We are not doing him a favor by serving him. He is doing us a

favor by giving us an opportunity to do so.

Mahatma Gandhi

Every day we receive poor customer service from vendors/ shops/

service centres in our day to day life. If you feel this phrase is

appropriate, please share with your class. This message from Mahatma Gandhi

may change the philosophy of at least some corporations.

Thank you Ram Ji and Ram Bhat ji and others for the many helpful

suggestions regarding my query. Your input is greatly appreciated.
