This is the all that matters. On route however it may be we are chosen to follow different paths. In retrospect, I think Sadananda was only pointing out the obvious -- my heart *is* being drawn to surrender. One little taste of real surrender and I see why men might go mad with its praise -- but their kind of talk isn't welcome everywhere. I don't want to offend anyone but I seem to be losing the ability to contain these feelings. Apart from God's feet there is only foolishness and all the philosophy in the world is a piece of straw in the wind -- which is fine for me , but really shouldn't be said to any who dislike hearing it. I understand intellectually how surrendering to God can be seen as a path to advaita and I can also see how advaita-esque experiences can be explained by other systems of interpreting sruti. Although the differences are vanishingly small from the point where ego is transcended, I honestly believe there is no path for egos around God. My path is not intellectual, although my conversation may be. My faith is in God - not theory. Whatever may or may not be more philosophically acute -- I *know* surrendering to God is the "return of truth to itself" -- after this little can or need be said. Feel free to post this to your list or not, as you like... with warm regard, -A.
