An atom is 99% space with the nucleus, electrons, protons only >composing the other 1 %. > Surprisingly the best parallel we can draw with modern Physics comes from Samkhya Darshan which interestingly defined the universe as composed of 'Akash' and 'Prana' Swami Vivekananda in his lectures (which were delivered before the age of New Physics) had said: Akash is not space but -- All penetrating existence itself. He said Prana can be understood as 'a disturbance in this existence'. Loosely called 'energy'. With these two constituents you can produce the entire universe 'physical and or mental' Everything belongs to this realm except 'Purusha'. This ancient philosophy has a lot to offer Modern science in terms of conceptual leap required to make sense of what it is dealing with. Ideas of space, matter etc all become subsidiary in relation to this analysis. jay
