If one doesn't attribute motive and sense of doership after enlightenment of the Buddha under the Bodhi tree, one might say, having experienced suffering "before" made such a profound impression, that its momentum (analogous to Ramana's fan being unplugged) carried enough energy to start preaching the origin of suffering and the path to end it. Another way of putting it is that acting out of spontaneous compassion isn't acting in the "worldly" sense and doesn't require a motive.
