Guest guest
>What is the meaning of life? How do we answer this question? >Who answers this question? Shall we let the ego answer it? >Have the List-members given any thought to this question >any time? I think every human at some point, being reflective sentient beings asks themselves the question about the meaning of life...but most likely the question is most intense about the time of late adolescence, at least in my case... the rest of your life is the answer, in other words we answer what the meaning of life is to our deeper self.. for some this may be a career or path in servise to others... for others it may be another path, but the answer to our own question is the rest of our life... in thought, word and deed. The intellect only partially can answer this question as "meaning" is deeper that ratiocination. My apologies offered as I may need to reintroduce myself to this list as I have been away awhile,,,,, I studied Shankaracharya under my spiritual guru Swami Prabhavananda over thirty years ago and have continued my studies... Most recently I moderate a Gnostics@ONElist where the primary focus is on Western philosophic traditions. I am also in terms of my life career a social worker and have strong views about social democracy... along with my philosophy which ranges from Advaita to Buddhist and Jaina concepts. I'm a fellow of the Theosophical Society but hold to theosophy in a generic sense rather than any sectarianism. Currently, I offer free Yoga classes at a nearby Hindu temple and at a Community Center. - Art Gregory lgregory
