Guest guest
Interesting email exchange: >I look to you to give some explanation of what is happening in science to >link it with spirituality... The idea of a holographic universe is very exciting; what >do Vedantic scholars think of it? Response:- Holographic universe Yes the Vedantic idea is similar - Holographic universe idea states that the cosmic may be held in a micro - this is very similar to the idea that we see in Vedic thinking, "if you know one grain of sand you know the whole universe" But if we say to the scientists, "look we have something similar to this idea of Holographic universe". He will shrug it off as 'coincidental cute poetry'. The stage is set for some of the teachings that Swami Vivekananda - to actually tidy up the conceptual picture for Science. To allow science to make more sense! At the moment Science needs tidying up. The whole thing has now degenerated into a pure play of mathematics. In order to make sense of the world they are talking a 10 (11 in some cases) dimensional universe. There is nothing wrong with this but the conceptual understanding that should go with this mathematical approach is missing. If you talk to a serious scientist he will say ideas of 'quantum mechanics' do not make sense or that the world made with superstrings vibrating in 10 dimensions is weird but that is how things are - we just have to deal with them in a mathematical manner! We are close to a very 'real' meeting between Science and Spirituality. Not through some poetic speculations but through an actual conceptual leap. Let us see. jay
