Guest guest
I received an interesting message from Pieter in response to the postings of the Avadhuta Gita. Peter has asked me to forward this to the list. Many will find this interesting...........................jay Pieter Schoonheim Samara <pietersa Please send them. Actually, I do not know how to post to the lists so if you don't mind...... Most of this non-dual teaching has to do with "hearing" as a prerequisite. Hearing comes from hearing the message over and over. The part of us that is the True Hearer, then notices that Its Name is being mentioned, and a singularity is established in the hrdayam, which is like a pinhole in the veil that covers the Universal Consciousness. When "hearing" is established in That pinhole, the mind begins to dissolve, and attention to the images and impressions in the mind, inner or outer, is relinquished, discarded, and one aides without time and space. The sun, of course, represents an enormous hole in the veil. Krishna mentions in the Gita that He taught this to Aditya (the sun). Some types of yoga are useful to keep the glands in balance and the nerves purified and strong, and otherwise to maintain health and steadiness of mind, but while some yogas involve a steadiness to the slightest energy in the slow movement and careful positioning of the body and attention to breath and others a steadiness and balance based on powerful kriyas, and others based on mantra and inner sounds, finally, but even now, before anything real can be said to have been accomplished, this "hearing" must be established.
