Indeed, India is worthy of tremendous respect. The only nation in the world where there is great poverty, yet this poverty does not destroy the population or cause serious misery. The only nation that has been invaded countless times, yet still survives whole and untouched, unharmed. And the only nation where religion is not a church to go to every Sunday, but is a way of life, is life itself. With Love, Tim ----- "Truth is One; Sages call It by various names." Guest guest
Hari Om Tim: You said it beautifully and I want add some additional points from your observation. First poverty is an indicator of level of material comforts, and the people of India (especially those live in remote rural India) were not affected by external influence of material comforts. Those who went to seek happiness in material comforts were the most most disappointed. They have to undertake miserable journey to get the comforts, and then extended their misery to safeguard the comforts, finally they become more miserable when they lose the comforts. A spiritual person understands that happiness is within and not in external objects. We can experience Happiness and Love if we forego selfish desires. Now India is experencing the newest wave of invasion - western materializm and it is taking its roots in the urban cities of India. I hope that India resists this invasion one more time and reestablish its True Nature! regards, Ram Chandran Tim Gerchmez wrote: > Tim Gerchmez <core1 > > > > Indeed, India is worthy of tremendous respect.
