Guest guest
>>Jaishankar: If one cannot see through the claims of others I dont think one can gain the knowledge of the reality as it is. Dan: I agree. As Jesus of Nazareth reportedly said, "There are none so blind as those who will not see." He also said, "Why do you point to the splinter in your neighbor's eye? First, remove the beam from your own eye." The greatest challenge, as I see it, is the beam in my own eye - far easier to distract myself pointing out the shortcomings of neighbors. Further nondual wisdom is expressed in the quote attributed to Jesus in the Nag Hammadi text which says, "Why do you search for me in temples of wood and stone? Split a piece of wood and I am there; lift a stone and you will find me." I am clear that the "finding" this text points to is far more than learning a new cognitive stance. An "improved" cognitive construction of reality symbolically is associated with an edifice of wood and stone - no matter how apparently reliable, it is merely a static construction that eventually will be gone.
