Those who are interested to understand the concepts of 'Devi Worship'

and 'Puja' should vist the following two WEB sites maintained by the

Smithsonian Institution in Washington.

Devi Homepage: http://www.si.edu/asia/devi/index.htm

This web site has been developed in conjunction with the exhibition of

the same name. The exhibition was on view at the Arthur M. Sackler

Gallery from March 29, 1999 through September 6, 1999. Like the

exhibition, this web site looks at the six aspects of the Indian

goddess Devi. The site offers additional information on the

contemporary and historical worship of Devi, activities for children

and families, and a list of resources on South Asian arts and cultures.

Sackler web site: Puja: http://www.si.edu/asia/puja/start.htm

Hindu worship known as puja is the act of showing reverence to a god or

to online guide for educators offers background information, activities,

a bibliography and a resource list about puja. This site complements

the award-winning exhibition Puja: Expressions of Hindu Devotion on

view in the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, the national museum of Asian art

at the Smithsonian.
