dear kathirasan,gasusima,

firstly ,let me state that i have the utmost

respect for all advaitins regardless of age and would not hesitate in

stating this respect as 'ji','sir' to anyone.i hope none takes offence at my

foll. remarks:

we are all fellow travellers ,fellow advaitins...really speaking we all have

mutual respect for each other...so,in that sense we are all equal and we can

all either formally address each other as x-ji or alternatively we can have

an informal approach simply saying dear x.

i feel comfortable with both forms, but since there was a mail from shri.pbv

rajan stating that shri. madhava is only 31,i thought maybe madhavaji has

taken offence at my addressing him as 'ji'(because i know many who feel

offended if addressed as being elderly if they are not so)hence i took back

the 'ji'.anyway,it was all a jestful

interaction.indeed,sankara,jnanesvar,sw.vivekananda.....many others attained

spiritual elderness despite being young in age...age has nothing to do with

spiritual accomplishments,we all know that.

i hope i have clarified my position sufficiently enough.

Happy Thanksgiving Holidays,

I believe that your viewpoint should be quite agreeable to almost everyone in

the list. None of us expect 'ji' or 'sir' and we should divert our focus on the

discussion topics and show our respect through the choice of non-offensive

language.

Words can never fully describe true love and respect!

regards,

Ram Chandran
