Guest guest
It has been stated several times recently that it is very important to receive instruction in Advaita Vedanta from a traditional teacher. Recently, I have learned of the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam in eastern Pennsylvania, founded by Swami Dayananda Saraswati, who is apparently such a teacher. Does anybody out there have any personal knowledge of this place, the teachers, etc, that they would care to share? And is this the only institution of its kind in America? Thanks in advance, Warren

" I am a student of Swami Dayananda Saraswati. I have undergone a three year residential course in Vedanta and Sanskrit at Arsha Vidya Gurukulam, Anaikatti, Coimbatore, India. I am blessed with whatever knowledge I have today only due to his grace. He is the only teacher in the world today who can handle the Vedanta texts in English as a valid means of knowledge. He is a traditional teacher who is able to communicate the vision of the Vedas in a language which can be easily understood by the modern man. In his teachings Shankara and all other Acharyas in the tradition come to life. It won't be a hyperbole if I say that he is the best in the world today to teach vedanta. I have been to Arsha Vidya Gurukulam at Saylorsburg, PA. It is the only place in U.S where Vedanta is taught in the traditional gurukula style. The gurukulam is run with voluntary donations and no fee is collected for the teaching courses conducted. Ours is a tradition which does not sell knowledge and Swamiji strictly follows it. The remarkable thing about Swamiji is that he does not have any agenda for anyone and he does not manipulate anybody. He is truly a guru who is a srotriya and brahmanista.
