Guest guest
gummuluru sir,a million thanks for refuting the highly dubious material written on desire by giving the appropriate quotes.i myself wanted to respond to the desire argument but nowadays find myself reluctant to take up debating and refuting because of vairagya(or is it laziness?:-)) come to think of it, EVERYTHING IN MAYA has it's pros and cons and no statement is entirely wrong or entirely right- but we have to increase sattva and eventually give it up too to realize our true self instead of engaging in the glorification of desire which is entirely contrary to what our scriptures say-this is one thing we are fully sure of.one can have endless arguments---maya is also ishwara's shakti so it is also good why try to transcend it?---shakti is duality ,in duality is misery ...siva is one-the ever blissful. hurry home.... the state of no thought is not a dull, stagnant state it is the substratum of all thought ....i agree, as long we have to think; right thinking is better than no thinking or wrong thinking but the ideal is to become the "THAT" where thinker,thought,... no differences exist.it may be that currently we are not strong enough to realize the ideal ---but the ideal must not be lowered rather we must strive to raise ourselves up to it--and that is sadhana. om.
