Guest guest
Hari Om Sri Devendra: Now I am quite confident that Gita Satsang will go very well with your involvement on posting the vesrses. Thanks again and Wish you Happy Holidays, Ram chandran Note: Here is my message to Sri Madhavaji. HariH Om Madhavaji: We are quite fortunate that you have agreed to take the leadership. Sri Kathirasan and Sri. Devendra (I am sure Sri Varadarajan also) have accepted to post the verses with translation from available Internet Sources. Your Survey suggestion is an excellent idea but it may serve better if we conduct it few months after conducting the Gita Satsang. Gita Satsang in the Cyber space is an evolving process and let us start it and be flexible to change and revise using the feedback and interaction of members. Here are my suggestions: (1) Post two to three verses per week starting from Chapter 1 with translation and the original commentories of Shankara & Ramanuja. These postings will be done by Sri Kathirasan, Sri Devendra and Sri Varadarajan as per your direction. (Ravi Mayavaram has indicated a Website where the original commentories are readily available) (2) You and Gummuluru can present the view points and commentories of Swami Chinmayananda. Sri Jaishankar and Sri Kalyan can present the commentories of Swami Dayananda Saraswathi. Sri Sadananda and me will also participate with commentories and viewpoints of others. (3) Members can exchange their viewpoints and personal experiences during the week. (4) At the end of every chapter, you take the lead and summarize the discussions. (need not be elaborate but state briefly the highlights) These entire discussions should go by the common thread - Gita Satsang (Chapter xx). Then the archives will become a valuable treasure to the universal population and they can access it freely and easily. I have given my suggestions and you are the leader and I leave it to you to choose the suggestions that fit your requirement. Once again, thanks for accepting this challenge and I am confident that you will complete this task without difficulties. This is a great opportunity for all of us to serve and let us not miss this opportunity. regards, Ram chandran -- "Madhava K. Turumella" <madhava Mon, 13 Dec 1999 11:25:13 +0300 >My humble pranams to you all: > >Starting the Gita satsang is an excellent idea. And I realized that you >wanted me to take the lead and start the satsang. I shall certainly try to >do my level best. > >Let us start with chalking out the complete program. Since we are on a >Cyber Satsang, let us make it interactive. First, let us find out on what >exactly our members would like to know from Gita. > >Gita is an answer to all the questions in life, let us make it tailor made >for our satsang members. Perhaps, there are 60% of people who are bhakti >oriented! Perhaps 40% would like to know the answers of life through it, >perhaps 70% would like to know the application of Gita in their day-to-day >life.... what ever... > >My only intention is that, unknowingly we should not make our satsang >members to read the subjects that they are not much interested in... Hence >let us have a survey. Let us find out from the survey --- on what exactly >every one is expecting, from the Gita satsang. Through this we will arrive >at a data of the mindset of our members, we will come to know whether they >are enough interested to get exposed to SankaraBhasya or they are just >looking at Gita as a technical manual which could solve their day to day >problems. So that accordingly we could quote and send the data to them. >Usually this is the work of a Guru, because a true guru can understand the >mindset and start. Here, we do not know who is out there... Hence, there is >a need to know. > >In case, you all agree to the Survey idea, then we can conduct it with the >help of our ONELIST survey tool. Yes, it is available and we just need to >use it. I need your help in preparing an answers basket. i.e. Various >answers that you could expect from our members. Also, please write a >question which can extract the maximum out of our members. > >(example, let us prepare and agree for a good one) >Question: We would like to know on what exactly you expect from the Gita >Satsang? Please choose one of the answers that best suits your needs. > >(example, we need to prepare 25 answers >Answer1: I want to know the meaning of life >Answer2: I want to know how I can reach the God (Bhakti) >Answer3: I want to know how to meditate >etcetera... > >Thank you.
