Guest guest
Dear Amanda, I had written: >Therefore Advaita begins where practice ends. >If even Advaita >is sought to be `practised' (as by a `doer'), >then the whole idea >becomes self-defeating and there is even the >possibility of subtler >forms of delusion in which the `one' thinks >that `he' has disappeared >as a result of `his' practice (delusion worse >confounded). ---- You wrote: Isn't it just as much of a disappearance of a doer as it is a spreading of the focus of consciousness to include other beings as well, a direct sharing of the different energies of desire and a "resolution" of these or a dissolving of the single characteristics into this light of consciousness ? ----------- The "focussed consciousness" you mention is the illusory "I." It does not exist. And there are no "other beings" to "include". That is the whole point. What you mention sounds like the "I" expanding to include everything, whcih could be another (subtler) delusion. But perhaps I am missing your point and you are using a different way of saying the same thing.
