Guest guest
Maybe we can say that one amongst the "Aganati Gunas" of Bhagavan was His ability to move with anyone, be they a child, adult, elder, cat, dog, monkey, peacock in such a manner as each one of them felt He was one amongst themselves. I relate here some of the experiences children had with Bhagavan. Bhagavan was in Virupaksha cave, probably just moved in, a young boy in His twenties. One day a boy of about 10 saw Him sitting outside on a mounatin stone doing nothing. This young boy asked Bhagavan " Have you run away from your Home ? Are you feeling tired and hungry? I have a good master. If you work for him, he will give you 10 Annas a week. After that he will increase it to 13 Annas a week. Shall I tell my master ?" Sri Bhagavan replied " Yes. Please do". Now Bhagavan had not run away from home in that sense. However he appreciated the sincere sympathy of the child and played along with him. Afterwards when Bhagavan had become more famous, many small school children used to climb up Arunachala in the hot afternoon sun, spend there time in perfect silence sitting with the Maharshi, play a little and go back home. Some of these children later became His ardent devotees and they recollect these precious years, when they had such an easy access into the proximity of a such a great sage. Arthur Osborne's entire family was at Ramana Ashram. One day he asked his daughter "Kitty" ,as to who was her favourite person in the world. She did not mention Bhagavan in her answer. At this he questioned her as to "What about Bhagavan?" The little child who was only 5 answered, "But Bhagavan is not in the world." When Sri Ramana was told about this, He replied , "What a sage reply for a little child to make". Bhagavan also knew everything that a child wanted. One day a child was making a lot of fuss in the dining hall, asking for this and that and not eating anything. The attendees were getting tired. The child only seemed to want something, but was unable to express what he wanted. Bhagavan who was also sitting there for His lunch, being Bhagavan, asked the attendees to go get a couple of spoons and give it to the child. After this was done , the child was satisfied. He actually had wanted to imitate some of the elders eating with a spoon but did not know how to ask for it. There were many a childern who were blessed with Bhagavan touching them on their head.
