Guest guest
Greetings Lilia: Adi Granth is known as 'Sri Guru Granth Sahib' and is considered as Vedas for the Hindus, Bible for the Christians and Quron for the Muslim. I have sited a book below which contains quotations from Adi Granth: Sri Guru Granth Sahib Discovered - A Reference Book of Quotations from the Adi Granth:Hakim Singh Rahi; Motilal Banarsidass (Pvt) Ltd., 41 U.A. Bungalow Road, Jawahar Nagar, Delhi-110007. Rs. 695. This Book contains quotations from the Adi Granth selected by the author. This anthology type of work gives a historical account of the ``Sri Guru Granth Sahib''. Every religion can be studied from the three perspectives of its founder, scriptures and doctrines to get a comprehensive understanding. The book gives the list of the 10 Gurus, the founders of Sikhism and elaborately mentions the scriptural writings under various titles such as the concept of God, nature of the world, Karma and transmigration, concept of sin, salvation, Guru, prayer, Hinduism in the holy Granth and Muslim and Sufi influence on the Gurus. Hence this book provides ample scope for understanding Sikhism from different perspectives besides a preliminary knowledge of its fundamental doctrines. The selected passages in this collection are duly numbered. As the ultimate goal of every religion is human emancipation, Sikhism like all religions deals with the maladies of mankind and the means to overcome them. It also depicts the nature of salvation for which God's grace is inevitable. In this the guidance of the Guru is essential. This collection of sacred passages give an outline of the basic doctrines of Sikhism, one can rely on this work for acquiring a basic knowledge of Sikhism. Also Visit the Sikhism Homepage at: http://www.sikhs.org/ for more information about the Sikh Religion.
