Guest guest
namaste, To invoke the blessings of the Shankara-Advaita guru paramparA (Teacher-Disciple tradition) the following verse is chanted: naaraayaNaM padmabhuva.n vasishhThaM shakti.n cha tatputra parashara.n cha . vyaasa.n shuka.n gauDapadaM mahaantaM govinda yogiindramathaasya shishyam.h . shrii sha~Nkaraachaaryamathaasya padma\- paada.n cha hastaamalaka.n cha shishhyam.h . ta.n troTaka.n vaartikakaaramanyaan.h asmadguru.n santata maanatosmi .. The tradition is followed by ten orders of monastics which Shankaracharya founded (Ashrama, bhAratii, sarasvatii, puri, giri, aaraNya,vaana, paarvata, saagara, tiirtha), and their disciples. In its characteristic terse and compact manner, the Gita gives a hint: tadviddhi praNipaatena pariprashnena sevayaa. upadekshyanti te j~naana.n j~naninastattvadarshinaH .. 4:34 Know That(Knowledge of the Self) through surrender, inquiry, and service of the sages who have known the Truth, who will instruct you. This is perhaps the most difficult stage for an aspirant to accept and follow, and yet the royal entrance to the Divine mansion. ____ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
