However, the punishment varied by the intensity of their involvement. Bhishma and Drona who did not take the necessary actions to stop that had to pay the price. If so, they must of had great punyas (merits). How is Krishna going to bring them (adharmic people) to destruction quickly despite their great punyas? They dishonoured Draupadi. The fastest way to destroy one's punyas quickly and bring one to destruction rapidly is the act of dishonouring women. I believe Krishna purposely used this tactic just as how it was used to bring Ravana to destruction through the dishonouring of Seetha in the Ramayana. Perhaps, the same lesson was to be taught twice to mankind to refresh our memory (as Dr. Dharmaratnam would put it). Even Keechaka came to destruction quickly by dishonouring Draupadi in the Matsya kingdom. There are also more stories of women burning up assailants through their chastity. -- Warmest regards, Ruben rubenn _____________ StudyCircle: Mailing List on multifaith religion & spirituality see http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Troy/9261/studycircle/
