Guest guest
This thread quotes stories from the great Hindu epic, Mahabharata which gives lessons on morality and spirituality: Story: Concentration of Arjuna The 100 Kaurava brothers and 5 Pandava brothers were cousins. The 105 princes learnt the science of war under Drona. Arjuna became the favourite pupil of Drona in archery. He became very skilled in bowmanship because of consistant practice, determination, dedication and concentration. He even practised and mastered the art of shooting a target in the dark by merely observing the direction of the sound. The Kauravas got jealous and Drona wanted to show them why Arjuna became his favourite student. One day, Drona placed a toy bird as target on top of a tall tree and told his students to aim at the left eye of the bird one by one and asked them what they saw. Each one said they saw the toy bird, the tree, some leaves, branches etc. But when Arjuna got his turn, he said he only saw the left eye of the bird and nothing else. The Kauravas were amazed and Drona indirectly proved to them why he liked Arjuna. MORAL: Concentration and practice are the ideals that should be inculcated by students or anyone pursuing success in life. Without these, success is impossible. Practise makes perfect! -- Warmest regards, Ruben rubenn _____________ StudyCircle: Mailing List on multifaith religion & spirituality see http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Troy/9261/studycircle/
