Guest guest
Hello friends, Daily on my list I quote stories from the Mahabharata which gives lessons on morality and spirituality. Since this list is discussing similar topics, I thought I would bring that thread here. Story: True Devotion Once Sahadeva playfully told Lord Krishna that he could tie Him up. Krishna questioned that and Sahadeva still said that he could tie Him up. Then, Krishna took him to another spot and challenged him, "Tie me up if you can!" and He took the form of 10,000 identical Krishnas. Sahadeva calm, meditated, "Please let me tie up the Lord with my ropes of devotion (bhakti)." Immediately with Sahadeva's pure devotion, the Lord, Krishna even if He was numerous, was bound tightly. Sahadeva released Krishna after getting a promise from Him to protect the Pandavas (Sahadeva, his four brothers and family) in times of danger. MORAL: Flattery, bribery, cruel sacrifices, sadistic austerities or self-mutilation, utterance of blind beliefs etc. cannot win over the Lord other than the pure, genuine expression of the Heart as Devotion and Love. -- Warmest regards, Ruben rubenn _____________ StudyCircle: Mailing List on multifaith religion & spirituality see http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Troy/9261/studycircle/
