The soul, defined by the Catholic

catechism is 'a being without a body

having reason and free-will', is the

cornerstone of Cartesian mind-body

dualism and the very distillation of the

the error of ahamkara namely that the

grammatical subject of first person

speech is a real entity, one that didn't

ask to be born and doesn't ask die and

now finds itself stranded in a world

which is alien to it. How can advaitins

have any truck with this? As Ramana

Maharshi and others have pointed out, we

don't die because in fact we were never

born....

Regards
