This will conclude my list of references:

 

bR^ihadaaraNyaka upanishhat.h : IV:iv:24

 

sa vaa eshha mahanaja aatmaa annaado vasudaanaH . vindate vasu ya eva.n

veda .

 

This that great unborn Self, who is the eater of food and the giver of

wealth. He knows this obtains wealth.

 

[sarvabhuutasthaH sarvaannaanaamattaa. He dwells in all beings and eats all

food which they eat.

 

[dhana.n sarvapraaNikarmaphala.n tasya daataa praaNinaa.n yathaa

karmaphalena yojayitetyarthaH . the giver of the fruits of actions.He

enables all beings to obtain the results of their actions.]

 

brahma suutra: III:ii:38-41 shaankarabhaashhya, transl. Sw. Gambhirananda

 

 

Fruits of action: Of that Brahman Itself another characteristic is being

described that is in evidence during phenomenal existence in which occur a

division between the the ordainer and the ordained.

Thanks very much for all the references. I will pursue them.

Another very useful reference relating Brahman and Ishwara

(saguna brahman) is shrIlalitAtrishatIbhAShya of shri shankara.

For each name, pointer is given to shruti source with beautiful

interpretation.

 

In my earlier post, I might be looking at IshwarakR^ipa and

gurukR^ipa in distinct black and white terms, while it seems

there is scope for lot of gradational material.
