Thanks very much for all the references. I will pursue them. Another very useful reference relating Brahman and Ishwara (saguna brahman) is shrIlalitAtrishatIbhAShya of shri shankara. For each name, pointer is given to shruti source with beautiful interpretation. In my earlier post, I might be looking at IshwarakR^ipa and gurukR^ipa in distinct black and white terms, while it seems there is scope for lot of gradational material.
