Guest guest
namaste. I have the highest respect for swami Chinmayanandaji as a modern day Shankara. Swami Chinmayanandaji saw the need for propogating the message of the vedic scriptures. He established the Chinmaya Missions all over the world, travelled extensively spreading the message of the vedas, wrote commentaries on the upanishads and the bhagavagItA. He had a vision, and was untiring in his efforts to bring that vision to all the people. It is no exaggeration to say that he is the one most responsible for bringing the vedic philosophy into the thinking of the spiritually-minded of the modern world. When he sees a person of bad virtue, bad habits and one who mis-uses the human life, he had no patience with that sort of person. I attended many lectures by Swami Chinmayanandaji where, at the end of the lecture, if the questioner either missed the main point of the lecture or was asking questions which make no sense after the swamiji's efforts to put the point across, the swamiji quite often used to get mad and berate the questioner. However his anger is only for a few seconds, and may be it is with a purpose. The reason I wrote the above is: When I read the swamiji's comment on bhagavadgItA verse 1.23 (first paragraph of verse BG 1.23 as presented by shri Madhava), I notice swamiji putting the kauravas and Duryodhana down. I can see at least six adjectives in one clause itself. He describes the Kaurava side low-minded, power-mad greed-ridden palpably tyrannical evidently unjust unscrupulous All these in one clause of a sentence!! That too the main part of that sentence deals with Arjuna. The swamiji certainly would not tolerate people who mis-use and waste their lives. And there is a message there.
