Greetings Advaitins:

The search facility at Escribe.com archive facility is

quite powerful. The archives are also located at

/messages/advaitin/

However, the files are organized by chronological

order starting from 31 August 1998. These archives

contain close to 4400 articles. Most of the key topics

related advaita vedanta can be traced through the

search.

If you search using key words some precautions are

necessary (True for all search engines). Search

Engines collect pages by bit-matching and

consequently, spelling errors are not tolerated. This

raises an interesting question regarding advaita

articles:

A search for <Shankara> will not identify Sankara!

A search for <Bhagawatpaada> will not identify

<BhagavadPaada>!

As seekers of Truth, we should recognize that the

search for Truth requires patience and we should

question our perceptions and try other options! If we

have the determination, we can locate the article

through a combination of - author, title and keyword

search! Let us not give up!!

regards,

Ram Chandran

Exact Matches: Searching for a word will find that

exact match. A search for human, for instance, will

not match humanize.

Wildcards: You can use a * (that's an asterisk) as a

wildcard. Searching for *human*, for instance, will

match humanize, inhuman, and dehumanize.

Case-insensitivity: All searches are case

in-sensitive. Searching for HuMaN will yield the same

results as a search for human.

AND Searches: Separating search terms with a space

creates an AND search, where documents must contain

both search terms to qualify. So searching for alien

planet will find documents which contain both alien

and planet.

Subjects and bodies: Searches are performed on both

the subjects and the bodies of the messages in the

archive.
