Guest guest
Namaste, Saint Jnaneshvara has composed a poetic work in 6 chapters, called Madalasa Akhyana, based on a story in Markandeya Purana. In this the mother, Madalasa, initiates her three sons in Brahmavidya, and also advises her 4th son into secular knowledge as he was not quite ready for Brahma Vidya. ( This is the reverse of the Kapila Akhyana in Bhagavata Purana, where Kapila initiates his mother into Brahmavidya!) Hopefully, this will be made available soon on the web! Guest guest
Further to the postings of Kedar we can only add. "Grand Stuff" Kedar. Swami Vivekananda said explain the concepts of Atman even so that a child of 5 can understand them. These teachings of 'Atman' are the grandest thing we possess. We take great delight in passing out such teachings to all youngsters. All age groups (from the age of 4 onwards). >From all backgrounds -Eastern or Western. We have found that these youngsters take great delight in such teachings. In fact we have found that all teachings of Vivekananda make spirituality viable for any age group. Guest guest
Greetings Jay: Swamiji's point is quite profound and it contains a subtle message. The new born child reflects the 'True Divine Nature' and shows all the qualities that Lord Krishna describes about 'Stithaprajna.' Then the child gets briefing from all the elders (parents, relatives and their friends) to forget its true nature. If the child can get the debriefing at the age of five, it is possible for the divine child to get back its divine nature. We are all suffering because we indulge and tune our activities away from 'human dharma.' Let us wake up and correct soon! This is his subtle message!! --- Vivekananda Centre <vivekananda wrote: > ....... > Swami Vivekananda said explain the concepts of Atman > even so that a child of 5 can understand them. >
