Guest guest
Namaste, The study of Shankaracharya's works is like climbing a mountain; it shows ever wider vistas, ever new and ever exhilarating and ever joyful. It seems to absorb every challenge thrown at it: intellectual, emotional, or conative. To realise the Divine Mystery in the simple act of 'sarva-karma-phala-tyaaga' is the bliss promised and delivered with 100% satisfaction. Guest guest
Harih Om: May I request all active members of the List to post few words on the following question: "What is the role of Shankara's Advaita Philosophy and or Bhagagavd Gita in our daily life?" The list has been posting Gita Verses with commentaries from Shankara, Swami Chinmayananda and Swami Dayananda. Please explain to your fellow advaitins, how does Advaita Philsophy help you change your attitude toward your friends, relatives and foes? Hopefully, someone will open their heart and say a few words about any effect of Gita/Advaita on their daily life. I believe such exchanges are beneficial to everyone and the purpose of this list will be well served with at least one response! regards, Ram Chandran Note: Take this opportunity to search the archives and send your ideas, comments and reactions. From the stand point of advaita , I understand all paths are true, all philosophies suit the need of somebody. Therefore I learnt to never consider my path alone as true. 2. Sri Krishna says "Everything in this universe is strung on me". He says my "My divine maya is difficult to cross over ". He further clarifies, "Ishwara is present in the hearts of everyone . Onto him due you surrender with all your mind" . These three sentences to me sound like the backbone of sadhana. 2. Whatever path one follows, the only route for liberation is complete surrender even if you are following Jnana marga. Since the Self alone exists and I am that, I am learning to practise being the witness and watch the ego self and not be perturbed by it. During Self enquiry , when the witness shines, if this ego self can fully surrender, the peace alone remains. 3. Above all, advaita marga teaches one to have faith in one self. Truth shall shine. It is a certainity . So why despair ? Om, A FREE web-based e-mail service brought to you by the PC World Technology Network.
