Guest guest
You are the secret of God's secret. You are the mirror of divine beauty. Everything in the universe is within you. Ask all from yourself. The One at whom you are looking is you also. --------------------- Why are you chasing shadows all the time? What do you want to wash from your eyes With your blood? You are God from head to foot. Oh naive one, what are you looking for Beyond yourself? ------------------------ At last I understand Love depends on me. I hold a thousand curls of its hair. Yesterday, I was drunk with the cup. Today, the cup is drunk from me ------------------------ The one who shares your trouble is the one who cuts your head. The one who puts a crown on your head Is your source of trouble. Adding more load on you makes you a burden. Your friend takes you away from you. -Rumi translated by Dr. Nevit O. Ergin -----------------------------
Guest guest
Greetings Collete: The Rumi Delite was quite sumptuous and soothing. They inject the advaita philosophy without attributes! Those interested more on Jelauddin Rumi's poems, visit the Website: http://www.chattanooga.net/baylor/academic/english/studentwork/rumi/rumi.html Another site - "A Tribute to Rumi" http://www.zbnet.com/rumi/ contains biographical information and translations of his poems. Mevlava Jelaluddin Rumi (1207-1273) was a 13th Century Persian poet. A group of 20 Baylor high school students set up this site, called Reflections of Rumi. Deepak Chopra, the famous and successful author of popular spiritual books with scientific flavor quotes the poems and thoughts of Rumi. Those who have attended Deepak Chopra's lectures or listened to his Video/Audio tapes would have noticed that he often quotes the poems of Rumi and Tagore. Philosophy in poetic form is more appealing and relaxing!
