Guest guest
Slander is common to great people. All great people be they Sri Krishna , Christ, Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Vivekananda were all subject to slander and persecution. To my best of knowledge this is not a list group supporting slander. So refrain from making comments on great people. If you do not believe them , thats your private opinion. Keep it at that. For that matter there were some British authors who insulted Mother Teresa. There was some other westerner who ridiculed Sri Ramakrishna in a novel recently. You will always find some western novel criticising Sri Krishna for His Raasa Leela. I rate your websites equivalent to these. However Indian saints have always maintained that wonderful saying of the Buddha, "If you spit into the sky , that spittle will fall on you only" Regards, Anand On Mon, 22 May 2000 13:31:21 Tony O'Clery wrote: A FREE web-based e-mail service brought to you by the PC World Technology Network. Guest guest
Dear Tony, Om namaH SivAya! 1. Irrespective of the personal feelings, In the interest of keeping the sanctity of the forum, I would advise you to refrain from making such comments on this list. 2. For a moment, forget about the person in question is acclaimed as a saint. Let us think of him as a human, all those words you uttered against any human are subjected to question. 3. You seem to be believing in Lord Shiva. If you want to be --- what you appear to be --- then please refrain from making demeaning comments on HUMANS. There are three types of being exists in this universe. (a) Those who do completely good (b) Those who do completely bad © Those who do both good and bad. 1) The people who completely do good [as in (a)], are considered to be Gods. And they belong to the "DevalOka" Celestial heaven. The place where Gods live. 2) The people who completely do bad [as in (b)], are considered to be Demons. And they belong to the "rAkshasalOka" Place where demons live. 3) The people who does both good and bad, are considered to be "Manava" humans. This earth (the lonely planet in this universe) is designed for human inhabitants. We do good and we also do bad. Gita says "anityamasukhaM lOkaM" --- This world is not eternal, and there is no happiness here, in deed it is the abode of Grief. The intelligent way of getting rid of it is, as per Gita, to be neutral -- to pleasure and pain, towards friends and foes.... You don't need to praise a friend and demean a foe, both make you fall from your divinity. As you seem to be a Siva Bhakta, now, let me give you a practical example from our Siva Aradhana. All our epics say that chanting the Satrrudriya (the mantas chanting which priests perform the holy water bath to the sivalinga) is the greatest penance. Sri Yagnavalkya, the great seer of "Sukla Yajurveda", being questioned on which mantra is the greatest, replies thus: "yaH Sata rudriya madheeyatE sOgni pootO bhavati, agamya gamanAt pootO bhavati, patita saMbhAshaNAt pootO bhavati" He who understands/contemplates Satarudriya, he becomes purified like a fire, he gets rid of the sins he incurred after visiting the forbidden places, he gets rid of the sin of indulging in loose talk. Let us see, what exactly this "Satarudriya" says: It says "I bow to thee Oh Lord Shiva, the Almighty, you are in the shape of deceivers, and who is the leader of deceivers. I bow to thee Oh Lord Shiva, you are personified as cheaters, and you are the greatest cheater. I bow to thee Oh Lord Shiva, you are personified as dacoits, those who kill and steal..." Tony --- did you get the message? The message is, *HE* personified as all the things in this *HUMAN* world, he is there as good and also as bad. Our goal is to have vision of unity, not diversity. As long as you see a snake in a rope you are afraid. There is never a snake, that which is there is only you. Not even a rope. Lord Shiva with in you, is making you fear the rope, which is not there in the first place, as a snake. I bet, what you see as a snake may appear to the others as rope only. I pray Lord Shiva to guide you.. I remain yours. Om Namah Sivaya, Tony.
