Guest guest
Inaction or Escapism is not the Means for Liberation. The all-pervasive Reality, which is the basis for all activities to happen, can be likened to a screen in a theatre and the activities to the scenes that are projected on it. To know the screen the scenes are not necessary. Similarly to know the Self ("I"), available in all experiences, actions are not absolute necessities. Actions can give us four kinds of results - generation, destruction, separation and union. As these are possibilities gained by karma, they can never be instrumental for the uncreated, immutable, indivisible Reality. Yet this fact that "moksa" is not gained by any karma does not give us the freedom to abstain from action either. Inaction may not bring unwanted results but certainly it will not bring the desired result called "moksa." Inherent in every action is a result specific to that action. Therefore, absence of action cannot be equated with the presence of a result called "moksa". In short, inaction does not give any desired result!
