UMA RAMA GUNA GUDH PANDIT MUNI PAWAHI BIRATI

PAWAHI MOHA BIMUDH JE HARI BIMUKHA NA DHARMA RATI.

"Rama's nature is wondrous and deep;

" Learned saints thereby find peace,"said Siva to Uma;

"But fools who apart from him keep,

"With no love for true worship are soon lost in error." (first soratha of

Aranne k.)

Gruru Bandana in Tulsikrit Ramayana, taken from Bal kanda;

Bandau Gruru padakanja kripa sindhu nara rupa hari;

Maha moha tama punja jasu bachan rabikara nikar;

My own masters's feet I revere,

Sea of kindness, Lord Vishnu in man's form below,

By whose words, than the sun's rays more clear,

Error's night is dispersed, as night always must go.

Bandau guru pada padama paraga ! Suruchi subas saras Anuraga !!

Amie muri maye churan charu ! Samana sakala bhava ruja pariwaru !!

Sukrita Sambhu tana bimala bivuti ! Manjul Mangala moda prasuti !!

Jana mana manju mukur mala harani ! Kiye tilaku guna gana basa karani !!

Sri Guru pada Nakha Mani Gana joti ! Sumirata dibbe dristi hiye hoti !!

Dalana moha tama so saprakasu ! Bada Bhagge Ura aawai jasu !!

Udharahi Bimala Bilochana hi ke ! Mitahi dosa dukha Bhava Rajanike !!

Sujhahi Ramacharita mani Manika ! Guput pragat jaha jo jehi Khanik

Translation:

I honor the dust of my Lord's lotus feet,

So brilliant and fragrant, refreshing and sweet;

The substance and root of the life that is deathless,

All evils allaying and rendering them harmless;

Like ashes on Lord Siva's body divine,

"the giver of joy ever glorious and fine;

'Tis the cleanser of filth from the mirror-like soul;

Once applied it brings virtues within our control.

Recalling the nails of his feet, jewel-bright,

All my heart is illumined with heavenly light.

Like sun-rays the darkness of error dispelling;

How blessed is he in whose heart is its dwelling.

When heavenly glory thus lightens the heart

All the night shades of evil and sorrow depart.

Then Rama's deeds shine like a jewel's clear ray,

To be found where the mine may conceal or display.

Doha 1

Jatha Suanjana Anji driga sadhaka sidha sujan !

Kautuka dekhahi saila bana bhutala bhuri nidhan !!

Translation: Whoever this salve shall apply to his eyes,

Shall be thereby enlightened and cheere,

And enabled to look on the pastimes of Rama

In woods and hills where he appeared.

Guru pada Raja mridu manjul Anjana ! Naena amie driga dosa

bivanjana !!

Tehi kara bimala bibeka bilochana ! Baranau Rama Charita bhava mochana

!!

Translation: The dust of his feet is a salve soft and pleasing

For healing the eyes, giving sight and pain easing.

With mind's eye thus cleansed, all the deeds of Lord Rama

I"ll tell as I know them, the world-saving drama.

Jaye Ram, Sri Ram , Jaye Jaye Ram, Jaye Ram Sri Ram Jaye Jaye Ram.

Sita Ram Sita Ram, Jaye Sita Ram, Sita Ram Sita Ram, Jaye Sita Ram.

Namaste to all the revered Gurus of our List. I humbly bow to all of you, as

my lord resides in all of you giving lights to me to dispel my doubts.

SRU.
