Guest guest
Beautiful story. We think of the Lord only when we have difficulties. That is the reason why Kunti asked Krishna to give them as many difficulties all the time so that they can keep thinking of Krishna all the time. How great it will be if we think of Him even in our good times! Hari Om! Sadananda K. Guest guest
Namaste, As a 'counter-balance' there is the story of Narada, who in the presence of Vishnu showed a tinge of pride that nobody could excel him in the remembrance of God'd name. Once Narada asked Vishnu if he knew any devotee excelling in remembering God. V. sent N. to a farmer to watch his daily routine. Narada observed the farmer for days, and saw him uttering God's name only twice a day, once on waking up, and once before going to bed. Narada was greatly perturbed; he returned to Vishnu and complained what kind of a devotee he was sent to observe! So V. gave N. a bowl filled to the brim with oil, and asked him to go on his customary travels through the 3 worlds, with the bowl on his head and make sure not a drop of oil spilled over! Narada accomplished the feat proudly and returned to Vishnu. V. asked him how many times he remembered V. N. was aghast; he was so absorbed in making sure the bowl of oil did not tip, that he had not remembered V. even once! So V. aksed him, if the farmer who worked on his farm all day and remembered V. at least twice daily with intense devotion could be deemed a superior devotee!! Regards, s. >"K.
