If you are interested you can read more details about this at (URL given below) /message//773 along with a selection from M.P. Pandit's book. Also (as Frank pointed out) ramaNa is not considered as aruNachala/shiva in that text. shrii gaNapati muni has a few verses adoring skanda (lord subrahmaNya), son of umaa in the text.
